Dr. Kavita Rana
Director & Head of Research and Innovation at Rapture Biotech, Mohali.
About Me
Ms. Kavita Rana is presently serving as the Director & Head of Research and Innovation at Rapture Biotech, Mohali. She brings over a decade of academic and industrial research experience, with expertise spanning toxicology, nanotechnology, neuroscience, and diagnostic innovations.
Her journey began in 2012 as a Teaching Assistant in Toxicology at CCS University, Meerut. She soon advanced into research in 2013 through a DST Fast Track project, which laid the foundation for her Ph.D. in Toxicology (2021). Her doctoral research focused on the toxicological effects of CdS nanoparticles on kidney function, during her Ph.D she received prestigious DST-WOS-A fellowship to explore the therapeutic applications of arsenic nanoparticles in breast cancer.
She has since contributed to both academia and industry
Ms. Rana has published her work in peer-reviewed international journals and continues to actively contribute to the scientific community. At Rapture Biotech, she is dedicated to building links between academic research and industrial applications, while guiding and supporting the growth of aspiring biotech professionals.”

- As Senior Scientist at Dhiti Life Sciences, she developed latex-based in-vitro diagnostic kits including Widal, CRP, and RF kits.
- As a post doctoral fellow at the National Institute of Biologicals (NIB), she specialized in mammalian cell culture and protein–protein interactions.
- Post doctoral fellow at IISER Mohali, she advanced research neuroscience, studying brain circuits and Parkinson’s disease.
Ms. Rana has published her work in peer-reviewed international journals and continues to actively contribute to the scientific community. At Rapture Biotech, she is dedicated to building links between academic research and industrial applications, while guiding and supporting the growth of aspiring biotech professionals.”
